Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint:
Year of construction is 2/1956.
The car was then delivered to Hoffman Importers in the USA. Bought back in 1990 by a European customer and shipped to the Netherlands in 1990. Since then in the stock of the Alfa specialist Kees Verdoorn in the town of Genderen (nowadays it is called Goos van Pelt in the town of Veen).
Sold around '91 to Mr.xxx in Aalst, which was then sold to me disassembled in 2006. I bought this car precisely because I wanted to add an Alfa from the year/month 2/1956 I was born to my collection.
The special feature of this year is the hand-hammered body, the seams fit together very nicely and with great precision. In case of damage, new sheet metal needs to be handmade.
Another nice detail is that the car can be registered for participation in the Mille Miglia in terms of year of manufacture, provided it passes inspection successfully.
I didn't have to have any welding done, just tightening, priming and spraying. Color was once “Blue Capri”. I chose “Blue Zagato”.
When building it, I had a 105 engine with 88 HP installed as an option. I have kept the original block with 65 HP no. 1315.01445 (matching numbers) with the car (chassis no. 1493.01641).
Gearbox is a 5-speed lever (the original steering gear is 4-speed).
Seats type Sprint GT Veloce because they fit better for me. Original seats available.
I prefer the version without bumpers but in case required the original bumpers are available.
