Hierbij verkoop ik na 14 jaar voor gezorgd en gekoesterd te hebben mijn Corvette liefde.

Volledige historie bekend, meervoudig showwinner en een bekende binnen de Nederlandse Corvette-scene. Afkomstig uit een Nederlandse privé-verzameling. Gekocht met 45.000 mijl, afgelezen stand nu: 56.072 mijl (NAP aanwezig). Geheel origineel, in concoursstaat. Door Corvette-specialist Mark van Diepenbeek in Uden onderhouden.

De gelimiteerde (nr. 1988/2050 geproduceerde exemplaren!) en nooit in Europa geleverde 35th Anniversary is volgens kenners misschien wel de 'best looking' en meest bijzondere C4 uit de 'eighties'. De Miami Vice-look onder de Corvettes!
Met zijn 'triple white' kleurschema, glanszwarte targabeugel en doorzichting acryl targadak een gestrekte, uiterst stijlvolle en vooral unieke verschijning.

Het toeval wil dat dit specifieke exemplaar nabij Miami op 30 juni 1988 nieuw is geleverd door Chevrolet-dealer Ed Morse in Fort Lauderdale. Bovenstaande Nederlandse verzamelaar heeft de C4 destijds daar ook gekocht tijdens een zakentrip in de USA, is in opdracht door zijn Mercedesdealer van Dijk Rotterdam verscheept en op 18 januari 1991 op Nederlands kenteken gezet. Deze eigenaar die de C4 liefst tot 2009 bezat, koesterde zijn verzamelobject in een kelder bij zijn Mercedesverzameling en reed er naar eigen zeggen samen met zijn vrouw enkel sporadisch zomerse ritten mee naar Scheveningen. Zowel de dealerplaquette van Ed Morse als de alarmstickers van Mercedesdealer van Dijk zijn nog altijd als historisch herkenningspunt op de auto aanwezig. Ook heb ik van hem zwarte en zeldzame originele NOS einddempers overgenomen die hij als reserve bij de auto had, welke samen met een nieuwe rvs y-pipe gemonteerd zijn.

Deze feestelijke uitvoering ter ere van het 35-jarig bestaan van Corvette sinds 1953 is naast de al uitgebreide standaarduitrusting met zijn optiecode 'Z01 Package' voorzien van werkelijk alle denkbare opties:

Ook rijden in deze speciale C4 is telkens een feestelijke aangelegenheid met een weids uitzicht over de Anniversary witte 'clamshell hood', kijkend op het wit nappalederen stuur (ook in nieuwstaat) met daarachter het uitgebreide digital dash, bij voorkeur met Jan Hammer door de Bose luidsprekers galmend. Al genietend van zijn Europese rij-eigenschappen, 'open' rijsensatie en ultiem rijcomfort. Hooguit ontbreken de palmbomen langs de Hollandse wegen...

Zijn betrouwbare en oersterke L98 5.7 V8 Tuned Port Injection motor staat bekend om zijn hoge koppel en mooie, zijdezachte loop. In combinatie met de 4-traps automaat met overdrive en relatief lage gewicht dankzij de volledig kunststof carrosserie, dubbele aluminium draagarmen en glasfiber mono-bladveren bovendien opmerkelijk spaarzaam met brandstof. Met een normale rijstijl behoort 1:12 tot de mogelijkheden.

Om het rijden te veraangenamen is een uiterst zeldzame en kostbare Delco/Bose EQ radio/CD unit met ingebouwde aux-in aansluiting uit de GMC Typfoon (ja, die beroemde en destijds snelste SUV ter wereld) gemonteerd, in exact dezelfde stijl/lay out als de originele Delco/Bose radio/cassette welke uiteraard aanwezig is. Daarnaast zijn als accessoire de originele spiegel 'wind deflectors' van de C4 cabrio in bijpassend glanszwart gemonteerd, waardoor turbulentie tijdens open rijden wordt geminimaliseerd.

Geen gedwongen verkoop, verkoopprijs is scherp en vast. Een unieke kans deze zeldzame en belangrijke auto uit de rijke historie van Corvette te bemachtigen. De in 1984 geïntroduceerde en voor zijn tijd hypermoderne C4 stond aan de basis van de C5, C6 en C7, net als de Porsche 964 bij zijn nakomers. In deze staat en uitvoering een echte 'survivor' en tijdcapsule. Mijn wens is dat deze witte, historische schoonheid een goede 'conservator' krijgt, zoals ook ik ben geweest. Alleen serieuze gegadigden.

NB: let op, geadverteerde tellerstand van 56.072 is in mijlen, geen km's!

Full history known, multiple show winner and well known within the Dutch Corvette scene. Originated from a Dutch private collection. Purchased with 45.000 miles, reading now: 56.072 miles (NAP document present). Completely original, in concours condition. Maintained by specialist Van Diepenbeek Corvette, The Netherlands.

The limited (no. 1988/2050 produced!) and never delivered in Europe 35th Anniversary is according to experts perhaps the best looking and most special C4 from the 'eighties'. The Miami Vice look among Corvettes!
With its 'triple white' color scheme, gloss black targa bow and translucent acrylic targa roof a stretched, extremely stylish and above all unique appearance.

Coincidentally, this particular example near Miami was delivered new on June 30, 1988 by Chevrolet dealer Ed Morse in Fort Lauderdale. The Dutch collector above also bought the C4 there at the time during a business trip in the USA, was shipped by order by his Mercedes dealer van Dijk Rotterdam and registered in the Netherlands on January 18, 1991. This owner, who owned the C4 no less than until 2009, cherished his collector's item in a cellar with his Mercedes collection and, by his own admission, only drove it with his wife on sporadic summer trips to Scheveningen, The Netherlands. Both the dealer plaque of Ed Morse and the alarm stickers of Mercedes dealer van Dijk are still present on the car as historical marks. I also acquired from him black and rare original NOS end mufflers that he had as a spare with the car, which were mounted together with a new stainless steel y-pipe.

Driving this special C4 is a pleasure with a wide view over the Anniversary white 'clamshell hood', looking at the white Nappa leather steering wheel (also in new condition) with the extensive digital dash behind it, preferably with Jan Hammer reverberating through the Bose speakers. While enjoying its European driving characteristics, 'open' driving sensation and ultimate driving comfort. At most, the palm trees along Dutch roads are missing....

Its reliable and rock-solid L98 5.7 V8 Tuned Port Injection engine is known for its high torque and beautiful, silky smooth running. In combination with the 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and relatively low weight thanks to the all-fiberglass body, double aluminum wishbones and fiberglass mono-leaf springs, it is also remarkably fuel-efficient. With a normal driving style, 1:12 fuel consumption is among the possibilities.

To make driving more enjoyable, an extremely rare and expensive Delco/Bose EQ radio/CD unit with built-in aux-in connection from the GMC Typfoon (yes, that famous and, at the time, fastest SUV in the world) is mounted, in exactly the same style/layout as the original Delco/Bose radio/cassette which, of course, is present. In addition, as an accessory, the original mirror 'wind deflectors' of the C4 convertible are mounted in matching gloss black, minimizing turbulence during open driving.

No forced sale, sales price is competitive and fixed. A unique opportunity to acquire this rare and important car from the rich history of Corvette. The in 1984 introduced and for its time hypermodern C4 stood at the basis of the later C5, C6 and C7, just like the Porsche 964 at its descendants. In this condition and execution a true "survivor" and time capsule. My wish is that this white, historic beauty gets a good 'conservator', as I too have been. Serious inquiries only.
