In 1971, this Mercedes Benz 280 SE 3.5 was delivered to the first owner in Philadelphia (US). In 1993 the car was transferred to a different name, but it is said that the car remained in the same family. It was then also decided to change the original color, Dunkeloliv (291), to Bordeau red. In 2010, the car, with 80,627 on the odometer, was brought to Europe and ended up in the hands of a Dutch enthusiast. It was he who had the entire technology overhauled. The car was renovated and repaired for more than 22,500 euros. The engine, the chassis, the brakes, the gearbox, in fact everything was taken care of to get the car in top technical condition. The accounts show all work in detail. A set of “bottle cap” rims was also purchased. These alloy wheels were not supplied 'from the factory' on this car, but they are period correct and are supplied separately. The car was not driven much after the overhaul, only a few thousand kilometers. In 2026 the car changed to the last owner, also a Dutch collector. Although the dark red bodywork was actually still immaculate, it was his wish to repaint the bodywork in its original dark green color. The interior of the car is still “untouched” and in great condition. The air conditioning was also recently overhauled and adapted to current standards.
