Chamonix a été fondé au début des années 1980 par Milton & Newton Masteguin, l’un des constructeurs de la légendaire DKW Malzoni et fondateur de la non moins légendaire marque brésilienne de voitures de sport Puma.

Après s’être associé à l’ingénieur automobile américain Chuck Beck, Chamonix s’est tourné vers la production de répliques de Speedster et de Spyder, considérées comme les meilleures au monde. L’excellente qualité de la carrosserie est le résultat du laminage de la fibre de verre (posé à la main – avec pressage manuel), une méthode qui assure une plus grande régularité, sans ondulations de surface ni variations d’épaisseur, ce qui permet de réduire le poids et d’assurer un meilleur contrôle dimensionnel des pièces.

La reconnaissance internationale de la marque est intervenue au début des années 1990, lorsque la Chamonix Spyder a été désignée comme la meilleure réplique au monde par les magazines allemand Auto Motor und Sport et nord-américain Road & Track.

Ce Chamonix vient d’être restauré par l’usine et est en parfait état. La voiture est équipée d’un moteur Volkswagen de 1,9 litre.

La voiture est accompagnée des documents belges nécessaires.

Chamonix was founded in the early 1980s by Milton & Newton Masteguin, one of the makers of the legendary DKW Malzoni and founder of the equally legendary Brazilian sports car brand Puma.

After collaborating with American automotive engineer Chuck Beck, Chamonix devoted itself to producing Speedster and Spyder replicas, considered among the best in the world. The excellent quality of the bodywork is the result of laminating fiberglass (laid by hand – with manual pressing), a method that ensures greater regularity, without surface undulations and thickness variations, which allows for lower weight and better dimensional control of the parts.

International recognition of the brand came in the early 1990s, when the Chamonix Spyder was named the best replica in the world by German magazine Auto Motor und Sport and North American magazine Road & Track.

This Chamonix was just restored by the factory and is in top condition. The car is equipped with a 1.9-liter Volkswagen engine.

The car comes with the necessary Belgian documents.
