Dear Golf7R fans,
I am 47 years old and have been a car enthusiast for most of my life. I did a lot of research before I bought this beautiful dark blue example from an authorized VW dealer 4 years ago: 1 previous owner (reputable, 50 years old), accident- and repaint free, dream condition...
What sets this Golf apart from most R models is that it is a 3-door and a 6-speed manual. In my opinion a significant change that makes one of the main differences in the driving experience. The 4MOTION all-wheel drive ensures traction at all times and with the relatively low weight of just under 1.4 t, the vehicle puts a big smile on the face of car enthusiasts in a second.
With the highly professionally reinforced engine (cooperation between VW authorized dealer & MTR: original invoice over 10,000 EUR from VW available) even 600 hp would be possible, which is a pretty clear confirmation of how mature the EA888 engines are ex-works. Personally, the individually tuned output of 370PS/500NM (registered!) is enough. The engine has been running smoothly with the FTS set-up for years, always has power and is simply a joy to drive.
This "hot hatch" was upgraded exclusively with high-quality parts, which also makes it an exquisite - the better “Clubsport”. I have deliberately dispensed with extras such as nav, leather or the fragile and heavy panoramic-roof.
Nevertheless, anyone who opts for this vehicle acquires a overall package worth over EUR 50,000 that has been customized with a great deal of expertise. Complete documentation in the form of a folder, with all documents including MOT reports and invoices, is included for the purpose of a traceable history.
The following technical optimizations were carried out and only new spare parts were used:
- Engine and clutch reinforced: pistons, connecting rod, Sachs performance incl. 1-mass flywheel. Everything listed on VW invoice (engine conversion MTR, removal and reinstallation incl. many original new parts carried out by VW authorized workshop)
- KW Clubsport suspension of the latest generation “V3”
- Eibach stabilizers
- Various suspension parts including engine torque arm with harder bearings, Verkline
- OEM Audi RS3 brake cooling/ guide and heat plates
- OEM VW GTI Clubsport “S” unit carrier made of aluminum
- 4x MOTEC MCR3 19”, the lightest aluminum rims with MOT/TÜV in the dimension for the vehicle (8.5 kg/rim)
- 4x MICHELIN CUP 2 “R”, the best UHP tires on the market (300€/each!)
- BULLX EWG downpipe incl. 200 cell HJS catalytic converter
- RacingLine VWR600 intake (version with cotton filter)
- Stage 2 software (370PS / 500NM), optimized to the installed hardware
- Extremely lightweight LiPo battery “LithiumNEXT” (-15 kg)
The vehicle has thus lost a total of 30 kg in the right places!

Software: FTS Fahrzeugtechnik Bramsche.

- RIEGER real carbon spoiler lip at the front
- RIEGER diffuser in glossy black, matching OEM
- aerofabb roof spoiler glossy black, matching OEM
- OEM VW mirror caps changed from silver to gloss black
- Front chrome trim foiled in gloss black
- VW emblems changed from chrome to gloss black
- OEM R emblems replaced, from black/chrome to new OEM black/gold (gold-plated with real gold - an absolute highlight detail)
- OEM chrome exhaust trims removed, exhaust system from cat. onwards remains OEM (discreet, sporty sound)
ALL original OEM parts are included in the VB price and can be handed over.
HOW DOES IT DRIVE?
Agile, direct and dynamic. Not to be compared with standard R's/GTI's.
Due to the extra power, in combination with the single mass flywheel, the car accelerates extremely light-footed, which gives it even more sporty character. The KW Clubsport suspension, the super-lightweight rims, the Clubsport S brakes and the Michelin Cup R tires round off the driving experience perfectly.
CONDITION?
“1Year-old car level”. There is no recognizable or significant wear and tear. As good as new inside and outside, of course carefully warmed up at every “roll-out” and cooled down again before parking.
- Only driven 2,000 km in dry weather and only in the “03-11 season”
- Checkbook maintained by VW
- Fresh premium oil at the end of the season, i.e. every 2,000 km
- Hand wash only, with premium products
- Fueled only with 102 octane
- Winters exclusively in my dry garage.
MOT/TÜV?
#SAFE! Even the higher performance and top speed are registered in the vehicle's license & registration document.
MAINTENANCE?
The vehicle is handed over without any maintenance backlog and in absolutely perfect condition. The last service was carried out at VW in October 24. In addition to an oil service, a VAG performance brake system was also fitted.
TEST DRIVE?
The car is an 03/10 season-car and can be test-driven from March onwards
WHY IS THIS R BEING SOLD?
I would like to switch back to a convertible/roadster and hope that the Golf will come into very good hands.
PRICE?
It is an incredibly beautiful, well-maintained and now rare 7R (3-door, gearshift etc.). The price I am offering is fair considering the TÜV/MOT-compliant, high-quality and detailed conversion.
